The Hohe Salve and the surrounding Brixental mountains make Hopfgarten a year-round base for skiing, hiking, cycling, and outdoor recreation. The Salvenaland leisure area adds swimming and family activities close to the town. Tourism is an important part of the local economy, but employment is broader than hospitality alone. Agriculture and forestry, retail, skilled trades, construction, services, and small businesses all contribute to the economic structure. Accommodation providers and mountain tourism create additional seasonal and permanent jobs. Connections through the Brixental also give residents access to nearby employment centers such as Wörgl and the wider Kitzbühel district.
Beyond its distinctive landscape, Tyrol has a varied economy shaped by tourism, construction, manufacturing, trade, and services. Innsbruck serves as the main business and educational center, while companies and employment opportunities are spread across several regional hubs throughout the state.
