Stockerau is one of the main business and service centers north of Vienna, with a broad local economy that includes retail, skilled trades, construction, metalworking, transport, technical services, and healthcare. Its position within the wider Vienna metropolitan area gives residents access to an even larger employment market, while the town itself supports a substantial network of local companies and practical professions. This makes Stockerau a particularly solid location for workers who want regional job opportunities without moving directly into the capital.
Lower Austria surrounds Vienna and is the country's largest federal state by area, with St. Pölten as its capital. Its character ranges from growing towns around the Vienna metropolitan area to industrial zones and smaller communities across the state. Thanks to its central position and major road, rail, and airport connections, Lower Austria is closely linked to Vienna as well as neighboring Central and Eastern European markets, while manufacturing, logistics, food production, technology, and services all play an important role in its diverse economy.
