One of the largest historic old towns in western Austria gives Hall in Tirol a distinctive setting for shopping, culture, and tourism. Medieval streets and buildings remain central to everyday city life, while the surrounding Tyrolean landscape adds further opportunities for leisure and short trips. Behind this historic appearance is a remarkably broad economic base: more than 1,500 business locations range from small companies in the old town to larger industrial and internationally active employers on the outskirts. Hall is also an important center for healthcare, education, and public services, with strong rail, bus, and motorway connections linking the city to Innsbruck and the wider region.
Beyond its distinctive landscape, Tyrol has a varied economy shaped by tourism, construction, manufacturing, trade, and services. Innsbruck serves as the main business and educational center, while companies and employment opportunities are spread across several regional hubs throughout the state.
