Danube floodplains, wooded hills, lakes, and extensive sports opportunities give Feldkirchen an der Donau a strong recreational identity only around 20 kilometers from Linz. Cycling, swimming, walking, golf, and local gastronomy attract visitors as well as residents. Tourism and hospitality provide employment alongside agriculture, skilled trades, retail, and local services. The proximity to Linz is equally important for working life, giving commuters access to a large market in industry, healthcare, technology, administration, and professional services. Feldkirchen therefore combines a tourism-oriented natural environment with practical connections to the Upper Austrian capital region.
At the same time, Upper Austria is one of the country's leading industrial and export hubs, with manufacturing, automotive, metalworking, engineering, timber, IT, and services playing an important role. Its central location also provides strong connections to the rest of Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
