Helping workers support construction teams with the practical tasks needed to keep work moving on site. They assist skilled trades and other workers by preparing work areas, carrying and organizing materials, handling basic tools, and keeping the site clear and ready for the next stage of work. Helping Worker responsibilities:
- Prepare work areas and materials before construction tasks begin
- Carry, move, and organize building materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist tradespeople with basic tasks under instruction
- Help with loading, unloading, and distributing materials around the site
- Use basic hand tools and equipment when required
- Remove packaging, debris, and leftover materials from work areas
- Keep access routes and shared working areas clear
- Help set up or move simple site equipment and protective materials
- Follow instructions from supervisors and comply with site safety rules
Helping Worker requirements and skills:
- Willingness to learn practical construction tasks and follow instructions
- Ability to use basic hand tools safely
- Physical fitness for lifting, carrying, standing, and moving materials
- Ability to work as part of a construction team
- Understanding of basic workplace and site safety
- Reliability and readiness to take on different practical tasks during the working day
