Drivers play an important role in keeping people, goods, and materials moving between workplaces, customers, and destinations. Driver responsibilities:
- Drive assigned vehicles safely and follow planned routes and schedules
- Transport goods, equipment, materials, or passengers as required
- Perform basic vehicle checks before and after trips
- Load, unload, or secure transported items when the role requires it
- Keep delivery notes, mileage records, or other transport documentation up to date
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, colleagues, or site teams about deliveries and delays
- Follow traffic regulations, company procedures, and applicable safety requirements
- Report vehicle faults, accidents, or other issues promptly
Driver requirements and skills:
- Valid driving licence for the vehicle category required for the position
- Safe and responsible driving habits
- Good knowledge of traffic rules and road safety
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to manage schedules independently
- Ability to use navigation systems and follow route instructions
- Good communication and basic organizational skills
- Physical ability to handle loading and unloading where required
- Previous professional driving experience may be required for certain positions
