A synonym for polished hospitality and lakeside living, Velden am Wörthersee is known as one of Austria’s premium resort destinations, with 4- and 5-star accommodation, lively restaurants and events, and beautiful views across Wörthersee. This popular bathing lake in the south of the country draws visitors throughout the summer, while the town’s hospitality, leisure, maintenance, and public infrastructure sectors support demand for workers throughout the year. The result is a lively yet refined place to work, with the added appeal of long summer days by the lake.
This location also shapes Carinthia's economy and connections. Alongside tourism and services, manufacturing, electronics, technology, construction, and trade play an important role, particularly around Klagenfurt and Villach. At the same time, links to neighboring countries make the region well connected within the wider Alpine-Adriatic area.
