Jennersdorf is the administrative center of Austria’s southernmost Burgenland district and benefits from a distinctive cross-border location close to Hungary and Slovenia. The local economy is shaped by small and medium-sized businesses, retail, services, skilled trades, and tourism, while nearby thermal destinations and the wider Raab valley add further activity to the regional job market. Its position near the tri-border area also gives Jennersdorf strong links beyond Burgenland, creating additional opportunities through cross-border business and employment.
Burgenland lies along Austria's eastern border, with Eisenstadt as its capital and a regional structure shaped by smaller towns, rural communities, and close links to neighboring Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia. This cross-border position gives the state a distinctive role between Austria and Central and Eastern Europe, while its economy is supported by a strong base of small and medium-sized businesses alongside manufacturing, logistics, technology, tourism, and services.
