Absam is a small Tyrolean municipality at the foot of the Karwendel mountains, closely linked to the wider Hall-Wattens region and only a short distance from Innsbruck. Its local identity is shaped by traditional crafts, especially violin making, as well as pilgrimage history and a strong connection to Alpine culture. At the same time, good public transport and proximity to Hall in Tirol and Innsbruck give residents access to a much broader regional job market, while local businesses and services provide additional employment within the area itself.
Burgenland lies along Austria's eastern border, with Eisenstadt as its capital and a regional structure shaped by smaller towns, rural communities, and close links to neighboring Hungary, Slovakia, and Slovenia. This cross-border position gives the state a distinctive role between Austria and Central and Eastern Europe, while its economy is supported by a strong base of small and medium-sized businesses alongside manufacturing, logistics, technology, tourism, and services.
