Telfs is one of Tyrol’s largest municipalities and an important economic, educational, and service center in the Upper Inn Valley. Located around 27 kilometers west of Innsbruck, it benefits from direct access to the A12 motorway and an important north–south corridor linking Austria with Germany and Italy. Industry and skilled trades remain part of its economic foundation, while retail and services have become increasingly important in recent years. At the same time, the Hohe Munde and the surrounding Alpine landscape give Telfs a strong recreational appeal, creating a town that feels both economically active and closely connected to nature.
Beyond its distinctive landscape, Tyrol has a varied economy shaped by tourism, construction, manufacturing, trade, and services. Innsbruck serves as the main business and educational center, while companies and employment opportunities are spread across several regional hubs throughout the state.
