Three railways meeting at one station give Jenbach a transport identity that is unusual even by Tyrolean standards. ÖBB services connect with the historic Achensee cog railway and the Zillertalbahn, making the town an important gateway towards both the Achensee and Zillertal regions. The local leisure offer includes a swimming pool, ice rink, museum, toboggan run, skating facilities, and woodland fitness routes. Jenbach also supports a varied local economy with retail, financial services, professional businesses, hospitality, and other employers, while its transport connections make jobs throughout the Inn Valley easier to reach. This combination of accessibility and regional connections gives Jenbach an important role that extends beyond the municipality itself.
Beyond its distinctive landscape, Tyrol has a varied economy shaped by tourism, construction, manufacturing, trade, and services. Innsbruck serves as the main business and educational center, while companies and employment opportunities are spread across several regional hubs throughout the state.
