Where the Rhine approaches Lake Constance, Fußach offers waterside recreation, cycling, nature areas, boating, and easy access to the lake. The municipality’s economy includes services, skilled trades, marine and leisure-related businesses, retail, and other local companies. Its Rhine Valley position provides access to many more employers in Bregenz, Dornbirn, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein, creating an unusually broad cross-border job market.
Vorarlberg is Austria's westernmost state, with Bregenz as its capital and a dense network of towns stretching between Lake Constance and the Alpine valleys. Its location next to Germany, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein gives the region a strong international character, while its compact size keeps its main economic centers closely connected. At the same time, Vorarlberg has one of Austria's most export-oriented economies, with manufacturing, machinery, metalworking, technology, textiles, and related industries playing a major role in the regional business landscape.
