Few places capture the rustic Alpine charm and culinary traditions of the Salzburg region quite like Abtenau. This market town combines scenic mountain views with traditional alpine huts that are an important part of the local landscape. Alongside these huts, hotels, holiday apartments, and other accommodation properties create ongoing demand for renovation, maintenance, construction, and skilled trades, while year-round tourism supports a steady need for workers.
The regional economy is diverse, with tourism and services playing a major role alongside manufacturing, trade, construction, logistics, and technology. Salzburg city is the main business and educational hub, while employment and economic activity are also spread across regional centers such as Hallein, Bischofshofen, and Zell am See.
