Pörtschach am Wörthersee is an elegant lakeside town in the state of Carinthia, with good links to Klagenfurt and Villach, making its position in this state ideal - especially thanks to its tourism potential and broad job market. The mild climate, green surroundings crowned by a lake, and active resort center give this town a more relaxed lifestyle than larger Austrian employment hubs, but the town’s growing economy is one of the key reasons why workers pick this location.
This location also shapes Carinthia's economy and connections. Alongside tourism and services, manufacturing, electronics, technology, construction, and trade play an important role, particularly around Klagenfurt and Villach. At the same time, links to neighboring countries make the region well connected within the wider Alpine-Adriatic area.
