As the largest city in Carinthia, Klagenfurt is a major tourism hub with dozens of activities and attractions across the area. Its appeal is enhanced by Lake Wörthersee and a charming historic center known for its Renaissance architecture. However, art and culture are far from the only advantages of living in Klagenfurt - more than 70,000 people work in the city, which is increasingly focused on the growth of technology, education, and a range of other industries.
This location also shapes Carinthia's economy and connections. Alongside tourism and services, manufacturing, electronics, technology, construction, and trade play an important role, particularly around Klagenfurt and Villach. At the same time, links to neighboring countries make the region well connected within the wider Alpine-Adriatic area.
